Jonathan Sagar
PrincipalA brand specialist who has worked with brands at the highest levels across Aotearoa and Australia for over 30 years. Initially a founding member of Brand By Voice in Wellington in 1987, I continue to guide Voice as one of the region’s most innovative and respected brand consultancies. Voice specialises in developing robust, insightful brand strategies and compelling execution. After all my years of working, I still find clarity, leadership, and having someone on their side, which businesses seek. Intuition, too, is important when balanced by experience. Although initially of British descent, through my immediate whanau, I bring a unique perspective to biculturalism and a strong commitment to Te Ao Māori principles and our responsibility to Te Tiriti O Waitangi.

Neil joined Voice in 2003, and today, he and Jonathan co-lead the agency, continuing to keep the Voice proposition relevant, meaningful, and compelling to businesses.
Mark Di Somma
Strategy LeadMark Di Somma helps senior decision-makers, marketers, and brand owners to reframe, redefine and articulate what makes their business, brands, culture and content competitive at critical moments of change. Powerful strategy, he says, is all about making the daring decisions that enable a business to change how it’s valued both by the people who buy its products and by those who work so hard from the inside to bring the brand to life. Mark’s work has taken him from his base in New Zealand to projects in Australia, the UK, Malaysia, Europe and North America. Recently, he’s tackled problems for Red Bull, Advantage Group, World of Wearable Arts, Lease Plan, Sydney Olympic Park, Vector, Intel Security, Z Energy and NZ Rugby.
Toby Smith
Lead CreativeIt would be fair to say that branding is in Toby’s DNA. He has been designing, developing and delivering high profile, award winning brands years in the Australasia region for some 10 years. His down to earth personality and dry sense of humour bring a sense of levity to his work. But when it comes to the nitty gritty of brand design, he believes it should be relevant, considered and intuitive.
Ethan Sagar
CreativeEthan is of Ngāti Toa, Tainui and Ngāi Tahu descent; growing up around the agency from an early age, he developed a strong interest in design and the Visual Arts. Ethan joined the Voice team and brings with him a diverse educational background that began with his studies in design at Media Design School. He further honed his expertise when admitted to the incubator programme Mahuki at Te Papa, where he focussed on developing innovative solutions to one or more challenges facing the culture, heritage and learning sectors. His strong aesthetic sense and ability to think laterally have quickly set him apart, allowing him to contribute unique, forward-thinking ideas with a unique bi-cultural lens to our projects. Ethan’s multifaceted skill set and creative approach make him a valuable asset to the team.
