Our mate Jonnie
Voice’s principal photographer and good mate, John Crawford‘s latest exhibition ‘On the Street’ is garnering praise all around town.
His project features portraits of people living on the streets of Auckland, born out of his desire to raise awareness about Auckland’s homelessness problem.
“Everyone has a story to tell, but not many are prepared to sit and listen”
John Crawford, Photographer
Three years ago, he decided to stop walking past and instead sit down and talk with them. “Everyone has a story to tell, but not many are prepared to sit and listen.”
John says the images, together with the stories, are pretty confronting, “I’m affected by how sad some of these stories are, you can see the sadness in their eyes.”
Voice is proud to recognise and work alongside John on his exhibition. 100% of proceeds will go to the Auckland City Mission.
